De IKBENSTIL Amplifier is een classe-D stereo highend eindversterker met een vermogen van 180 watt (180Wrms bij 4ohm) per kanaal gebaseerd op de UCD HG technology. Deze IKBENSTIL Minicube versterker is speciaal ontworpen voor gebruik in combinatie met een IKBENSTIL Minicube DAC. Het is uiteraard ook mogelijk om een andere DAC te gebruiken, zolang deze maar op input RCA connector van onze versterker kan worden aangesloten.

Deze nauwkeurig ontworpen eind versterker is de laatste schakel naar de uiteindelijke weergave via de luidsprekers en is daarom een uitermate belangrijk component in uw installatie.

The level of detail was also remarkable. I was frequently hearing new things in familiar recordings, and different instruments were distinguished as well as I’ve ever heard them. For example, at the beginning of the second movement of the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto, with Maxim Vengerov accompanied by Claudio Abbado and the Berlin Philharmonic (CD, Teldec 90881), there are several instruments playing together that alternately become more prominent in carrying the musical theme. Through the GR180, these instruments were easily distinguished from the rest of the orchestra, and there was also a realistic texture to the sound. Similarly, there was remarkable sensitivity to this recording’s microdynamics. Vengerov’s vibrato was as easy to hear, and in several sections I was surprised to hear slight changes in dynamics that I hadn’t before.
I’m used to class-D amps doing impressive bass. It presented clean, strong, impactful bass that came very close to my memory of the NuForce 9 V2 (still the bass champ of the amps I’ve heard in my system). A range of bass-heavy tunes from Loreena McKennitt, Erin McKeown, and Patricia Barber were joys to listen to, with the deeper string instruments and percussion coming through powerfully and cleanly.
